Downtown Holland Fall Fest - October 4th & 5th
- The annual Fall Fest in Downtown Holland is one weekend you don’t want to miss. It’s all happening today and tomorrow, with loads of family fun! Pumpkin painting and carving are on overdrive, along with games, face painters, and balloon twisters, both downtown and at their fabulous Farmers Market. You’ll watch professional carvers create masterpieces from the largest pumpkins you’ve ever seen, including legendary Food Network alumni. Stop by Windmill Island Gardens which is hosting a juried Artisan Market with over 85 unique vendors. And here is a first for the Fall Fest - the acclaimed folk band Michigan-10 will be live in concert on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Knickerbocker Theatre. Fall Craft Workshops - WK Kellogg Bird - October 9th & 29th
- It’s not too early to plan for Thanksgiving and get your creative side on! The W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary is hosting two fall-autumn flower-arranging classes that will leave you happily inspired to be the hostess with the most! These arrangements should last a month or more, so you’ll be ready for Turkey Day. The first class is on Wednesday, October 9th, and it uses a pumpkin pie that you will fill with beautiful locally grown flowers. The second class is on October 29th, and you’ll be given a pretty specialty pumpkin and a colorful assortment of lovely dried flowers. These classes start at $50.00 and are led by Sherri Snyder, a local artist and owner of Green Goddess Farms. Dine on Stage with the Stars - Barn Theatre - October 5th
- The Barn Theatre, the cornerstone of Michigan’s theatrical landscape in Augusta is hosting their Fall Gala Fundraiser tomorrow, October 5th. This is your only chance to Share the Stage with the Stars, and one where you don’t have to perform…only dress in something sort of fancy. Just enjoy the ambiance, the wonderful dinner and drinks, and the presentation of some of the Barn’s most legendary actors who have gone on to achieve great success in film and TV. Dinner is on the stage of course, and you’ll get to interact with the likes of Lance Barber from “Young Sheldon”, Robert Newman, Daytime Emmy nominee, known for his roles in “Guiding Light” and “The Young and the Restless” and Eric Petersen, Broadway lead in “School of Rock” and “Shrek: The Musical.” Also, Stephen Lynch, acclaimed musician, actor, and comedian, and Adrienne Barbeau, Broadway’s original Rizzo in Grease will be joining this impressive lineup on stage.
