The South Haven/Van Buren County Convention & Visitors Bureau (SHVB CVB) announced the launch of the Pure Michigan Trail Town Challenge, running through the end of October 2024. Visitors and locals are invited to explore South Haven’s many trails through a gamified experience, tracking their progress to win prizes.
Participants begin by signing up free on the visitor bureau’s website. Participants will explore 11 designated locations throughout parks, tails and preserves in the area.
“South Haven is full of unique charm, natural beauty, and rich history,” said Jennifer Sistrunk, executive director of the SHVB CVB. “We are excited to provide this opportunity for visitors to see it firsthand - and earn a reward too!”
After checking in virtually at each checkpoint using their cell phone’s location services, individuals will have completed the challenge and receive an exclusive gift: a commemorative South Haven Pure Michigan Trail Town hat. Prizes are available at the SHVB CVB office and must be claimed by October 31st, 2024.
The challenge honors South Haven’s 2019 designation by the Michigan DNR and Travel Michigan as a Pure Michigan Trail Town. The city boasts 48 miles of land trails, 91 miles of water trails, 770 acres of nature preserves, and multiple scenic driving routes.
