Tibbits Opera House presents Rumpelstiltskin, the enchanting tale set to hit the Popcorn Theatre stage on June 21, 22, 28, and 29 at 10 am. In this whimsical adaptation of the classic fairy tale, audiences will be transported into a world of mystery and wonder.
Director Chad Tallon remarks, “Rumpelstilskin is a perfect addition to this year's Popcorn Theatre line-up as it tells the tale of a man with a secret name that dates back all the way to 16th Century Europe. With Popcorn Theatre, it is so important to give kids unique theatrical experiences that provide messages they can take with them far beyond Tibbits. Rumpelstilskin's core ideas of family, love, hard work, and acceptance are messages that are important to be told and are perfect for our young Tibbits Audience.”
Joining the talented cast are Lindsay Rosser as the spirited Jessica, the miller’s Daughter, Isaiah Young in the role of Mitch, the father, Cade Ostermeyer brings his charisma to the role of the King, and Brennan Wood enchants as the mysterious Rumpelstiltskin. Adding to the magic behind the scenes are Taylor Poling as company manager, and Elizabeth Kulaga as production stage manager, with Sarah-Parker Martin as assistant stage manager and sound support.
Production staff includes Ethan Rickert as technical director, Jake McDivitt as sound designer, engineer, and board ops, Kayla Hemphill and Jade Zhang as costume designers, Josh Rockwell as assistant technical director and master carpenter, and Trey Ewart handling lighting design, board ops, and electrician duties. Sarah-Parker Martin, Assistant Stage Manager & Sound Support, expresses her anticipation stating, "I am so grateful to be making my Tibbits Summer Theatre debut this year! This season is filled with productions that fill a wide range of theatre where you have heart-wrenching musical dramas to comfort plays that make you feel all fuzzy inside. Even with the Popcorn Theatre, these stories help fill the childlike wonder in all of us. I hope audiences embrace all of the different aspects in which live theatre is created to make the story be told."
