The Lakeshore Museum Center will open Nature Cat: Backyard and Beyond, a new interactive exhibit, on Saturday, May 30, at the Muskegon Museum of History and Science. A free opening celebration will run from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Based on the popular PBS Kids series, the exhibit invites children and families to step into the world of a curious house cat turned backyard explorer. Visitors can meet Nature Cat in person, pose for photos with their favorite backyard adventurers, and dive into hands-on activities throughout the immersive space. Opening day will also feature a nature scavenger hunt, a recycled-materials craft station, and a special tasting from local maker Kitty Wampus Soda.
"We are grateful for this opportunity to host Nature Cat at the Muskegon Museum of History and Science," said Volunteer and Event Coordinator Marci Dalm. "We can't wait to see the smiles as families discover the wonders of this new exhibit and make memories that last a lifetime."
Nature Cat: Backyard and Beyond runs through September 12, 2026. Admission is free for Muskegon County residents and $5 for non-residents.
