The Mt. Pleasant Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (MPACVB) is pleased to announce the 2023 Destination Development Fund Recipients. In Mt. Pleasant, the MPACVB encourages and supports development of the area’s attractions, evets, amenities, hospitality services, and other related tourism projects. The MPACVB primarily focuses on projects that support sports tourism and general community support and have the capability to generate visitors, related or new spending, or a higher quality of place. Past projects the MPACVB has helped fund include little league lights, volleyball equipment and basketball rims at Morey Courts, and improving erosion, adding canoe launches, and wayfinding signage in Deerfield Nature Park. This year the MPACVB received three sports tourism requests and four general tourism requests. Pleasant and Isabella County, Michigan founded in 1988. The mission of the CVB is to market and develop the city and county brand experience to target overnight visitors for economic growth and quality of life. • Mt. Pleasant Area Parks & Rec: $26,500 for posts and netting for Island Park & $9,141 for field maintenance at Sunnyside Park • Morey Courts Recreation Center: $32,300 for court resurfacing • City of Mt. Pleasant: $25,000 for two years for Town Center Public Restrooms • Art Reach of Mid-Michigan: $5,000 for Paint and the Pavement 2024 & $5,000 for Artist Battle 2024 • Isabella County Parks & Recreations: $5,000 for beautifying the Pere Marquette Rail Trail • Mt. Pleasant Municipal Airport: $5,000 for airport car upkeep and new signage The Mt. Pleasant Area CVB is proud to have invested over $260,000 back into the Isabella County community.
