Enjoy an outdoor adventure next month at the W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary's Nature Quest event, set for noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 1. Arrive anytime during those hours for self-guided activities that are perfect for all ages.
Participate in a tree scavenger hunt and discover the important roles that trees play in our ecosystems. You'll get to identify tree species, spot wildlife, learn about birds, and tackle fun challenges. Every family that completes the scavenger hunt will be entered for a chance to win a free membership.
The scavenger hunt could take around 30 minutes to complete, or longer depending on how much time your group wants to spend in each area.
Join us in the Overlook Building at 1:30 p.m. for a reading by Rhonda Accardo, author of the book “The Acorn and the Oak,” followed by interactive activities.
The March theme for activities inside the Overlook Building, which is located along the Sanctuary’s Paved Path, is “A Tree’s Life.” The Overlook hosts games, activities and crafts focused on monthly topics throughout the year.
Visiting the Sanctuary
Admission is free for Sanctuary members and the cost of regular admission for non-members: $6/adults, $5/seniors and students, $4/children ages 2-17. No registration is required for the scavenger hunt. Be sure to dress for the weather!
