Delve into the mysteries of the past with a candlelit journey through the historic Hackley & Hume Houses during our captivating Obituary Tour. This exclusive event, set against the backdrop of the late 1880s architecture, invites you to explore the rich history, art, and furnishings of the Hackley and Hume families—two of Muskegon's most illustrious lumber barons.

As night falls, guests will be transported to an era where Victorian customs of death, mourning, and memorialization played a pivotal role in everyday life. This year’s Obituary Tour offers a rare glimpse into the deaths that occurred within these historic walls, alongside an in-depth look at Victorian-era funeral practices and mourning rituals.

Scheduled for October 18 and 19, with tours running from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., this event promises an evening filled with history, intrigue, and reflection.
