South Haven will be ringing in 2024 at their annual New Year’s Eve Celebration on December 31st. “Our New Year’s Eve Celebration has become a beloved tradition for the South Haven community,” said Jennifer Sistrunk, executive director of the South Haven Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We are so excited to kick off 2024 with our biggest and most exciting party yet!” Several new activities are part of the fun at this year’s celebration, including a themed scavenger hunt and a mobile zip line that runs over downtown South Haven’s Phoenix Street. Food trucks Blackhawk BBQ, Sweet Escape, Camper Bean, and Phoenix on Broadway will be open from 5pm until midnight with a variety of delicious menu items available for purchase. Family activities include the Noon Year's Eve Party, hosted by The Mitten Children’s Museum and featuring glow sticks, dance music, and themed crafts and activities. Visitors looking to celebrate NYE early can also attend the Family Celebration at South Haven Center for Arts and enjoy crafts, refreshments, and an “early midnight” ball drop at 8pm. Other activities include ice skating, photo ops, salsa lessons, and the evening DJ and Light Show, with music by DJ Guy Voss. The Visitors Bureau has also partnered with the VanBuren Transit Authority to provide visitors access to a free trolley around South Haven, with stops downtown and at outlying restaurants. The celebration culminates at midnight with the annual Beach Ball Drop and Fireworks Show, at the corner of Phoenix and Center Street. The midnight countdown will end with 1,000 beach balls dropped over guests in the center of town, and attendees are encouraged to take a ball home as a souvenir from the festivities. “New Year’s Eve is a great time to visit South Haven and enjoy all our city has to offer,” Sistrunk said. “Several local lodging properties are offering deals and packages for the holiday weekend, making it a great opportunity to make your NYE even more special.” For more details about the event, visit southhaven.org/events/new-years-eve-celebration.
