If you’re craving color and warmth, head to the Frederik Meijer Gardens Orchid Show, happening tomorrow and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. — and it’s free to attend.

Marvel at stunning orchid displays accented with red, blue, and gold ribbons celebrating the very best blooms. You don’t have to be an orchid expert to appreciate the beauty, dedication, and talent on display, and local orchid clubs are on hand to answer questions — with orchids for sale, too.

Admission to the show is free, and you can purchase a ticket to explore the rest of Frederik Meijer Gardens, including a warm escape inside the tropical conservatory.
And don’t forget to cast your daily vote for FMG in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Sculpture Park in the World — voting ends February 16.

Ice, Wine, Beer & Blues | Downtown Marshall | January 30 & 31

Here’s a great winter combo you won’t want to miss — Ice, Wine, Beer & Blues is taking over Downtown Marshall on January 30 and 31.
Friday night, grab your friends and stroll the streets as you watch live ice sculpting, then stop at 10 participating Marshall businesses offering beer, wine, and appetizer samples along the way.

The highlight of the weekend happens Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. with a live concert featuring legendary blues guitarist Albert Cummings. Influenced by B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, Cummings delivers a high-energy blend of blues and rock that’s packed with soul and Texas-style grit.

Tasting tickets include 10 samples for $25, with options to add the concert or attend the concert only. Purchase tickets online, then pick up your wristband at the Eastend Arts Center or Living MI — and don’t forget your ID.
