Think of all the beautiful colors and scenery you’ll enjoy while breathing in the crisp fall air. While the peak color times change each year depending on the weather you are bound to see some of the most magnificent colors on your drive. Take a route along Lake Michigan and enjoy the contrasting colors of the red and yellow trees towering above the bright blue water.

Drive along the winding Michigan roads throughout West Michigan as you enjoy the fall colors. While stopping in all of the little towns be sure to make your way to a gift shop for a fall scented candle. With scents like “Walk In The Woods” and “Pine Needles” Grandpa Shorter’s gifts in Petoskey has the perfect scents to make your home smell like fall all year round.

The next stop is a pumpkin patch. Here you can fill all of your pumpkin needs and sometimes even grab a donut or two. Local orchards are the perfect place to stop as they offer everything from pumpkins and donuts to apples and animals. Lewis Adventure Farm and Petting Zoo in New Era has all of these things and more. They are the perfect destination for your fall color tour with the family. Be sure to say hello to all of their furry friends. They have the cutest goats and friendly camels.

Fall isn’t complete without a little pumpkin spice. Whether that means adding a stop, pumpkin spice donuts or a pumpkin spice latte is something you won’t want to miss! Swing by an orchard for a mug of warm apple cider to sip as you make your way through the seasons’ corn maze. If you’re looking for a scenic yet relaxing stop be sure to get on a hayride. There’s room for everyone as you ride along enjoying the fall colors

Hop on a bike tour with Grand Traverse Bike Tours in Suttons Bay to experience the gorgeous fall colors in a new way and at your own pace. Stop at wineries along the way and taste the flavors of fall. West Michigan is filled with wineries so you’re sure to find one with everything you need.

If biking isn’t your thing there are plenty of hiking trails throughout West Michigan. From the local park with plenty of room for exploring to state parks like Silver Lake State Park in Mears. It stretches along the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan and the well-known Silver Lake. Enjoy hiking the dunes while taking in the sights and the crisp air.

Don’t forget to take a break for a picturesque photo of you and your fellow travelers with the beautiful fall scenery as your backdrop. If you make it all the way to the UP be sure to hop on a Pictured Rocks Boat Cruise out of Munising to enjoy the limitless colors of the natural landscape.
