Silver Lake Sand Dunes

On April 1st, Silver Lake State Park will open celebrating 2,000 acres of sand dunes. Every year ORV riders descend upon the dunes for the re-opening. The dunes remain accessible 7 days a week through October 31st along with Little Sable Lighthouse on Lake Michigan.

You can also rent an ORV vehicle starting in May. The dunes are also home to Mac Woods Dune Rides, which offers visitors a seven-mile tour of the dunes opening May 14th.

Ottawa County Parks & Recreation’s Ottawa Beach Marina is located on Lake Macatawa, just inside the channel to Lake Michigan in Holland, only minutes from the Holland State Park and Mt. Pisgah. A universal kayak launch and day-use bikes are available free-of-charge. The county park offers an accessible boardwalk and several fishing piers nearby and visitors can also enjoy the Pump House Museum
