16th Annual Kalamazoo Fretboard Festival (This Saturday)
This is an annual festival celebrating everything to do with guitars, and this year they’re taking the festival online. So tomorrow they’ll be hosting three live-streamed workshops that will focus on cords, scales, and using them to play songs. These are free workshops you can play along with from home, but you do need to register ahead of time to get access to the link. You can check out even more on the Kalamazoo Fretboard Festival website, including past performances and local artist interviews. (FretboardFestival.com) Presented by the Kalamazoo Valley Museum.
Virtual Sci-Fi Event (Tonight)
So if you’re a Sci-Fi fan, The Bookman bookstore in Grand Haven has a virtual event going on tonight where you can hear from, and chat with a local Michigan author, who has been selected as one of the “best sci-fi and fantasy writers of tomorrow.” It’s a free event at 6pm tonight, and you’ll again need to register ahead of time to get the link to join. I do love that it’s become a lot easier to check out some of these events that might not be located right where you live, with so many being offered online now.
