Cherry Republic Announces New Hires, Promotions

As Cherry Republic continues to grow, it recently announced several significant new hires and promotions at its Glen Arbor headquarters:

Nicole Agruda, Director of Human Resources. Nicole joins Cherry Republic with nearly 15 years of HR experience in manufacturing and production settings, including most recently at Kennametal in Traverse City. She brings significant experience in lean manufacturing, as well as in policy, procedure, and safety program administration. Nicole holds a master’s
degree in organizational management from Spring Arbor University and a bachelor’s degree in communication from Oakland University. She is a member of the Traverse Area Human Resources Association and the Society for Human Resources Management. Nicole lives in Traverse City with her Goldendoodle, Chloe.

Michelle Fiebing, Digital Marketing Manager. Michelle brings marketing and advertising experience to Cherry Republic, having worked on both the agency and client sides of the industry. She worked on the GMC truck dealer account at McCann/SAS in Troy and was on the team that launched the Ford Excursion while at J. Walter Thompson. She most recently held the position of marketing director at Bagger Dave’s. Michelle earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing and management from Northwood University. She and her husband Josh live in Traverse City and have a daughter, twin sons, and a Goldendoodle named Zeus.

Leah Moskovitz, Workgroups & Housing Supervisor. Leah earned her bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University in 2017, majoring in hospitality and minoring in business information systems. After completing two internships at Disney, Leah returned to Michigan to work at The Inn at St. John’s, where she facilitated training and new hires on-boarding. Most recently she was guest services manager at The Homestead. In 2020, Leah received her MBA from Central Michigan University. During quarantine, Leah adopted an 8-year-old cat from the Cherryland Humane Society named Coopur.

Laura Ann Johnson, Human Resources Training Specialist. Laura Ann has held several roles during her tenure at Cherry Republic, including in marketing, retail, and by working directly with the company’s president and CEO. Prior to joining Cherry Republic, she spent five years as the director of the Leelanau Outdoor Center, working with schools and professionals all across Michigan. Laura Ann holds a bachelor’s degree in educational studies from DePauw University and is a member of the Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes board of directors. She lives in Leelanau County with her husband Tom, son Abner, daughter Florence, and dog Pepper.

Adam Kabat, Information Technology Help Desk. A 2019 graduate of Glen Lake High School, Adam currently attends Northwestern Michigan College where he is pursuing a degree in computer information technology and an associate’s degree in applied science. While attending school, he has held positions in both customer service and reception. This experience — along with his IT certifications in A+ and Network+ — has allowed Adam to become a friendly resource for all tech-related problems. He currently lives on his family’s centennial cherry farm in Leelanau County and has two rescue cats, Leo and Patch.
