2021 Grand Rapids Boat Show Postponed in Wake of Continued COVID-19

ShowSpan, Inc., Michigan’s premier producer of consumer shows, today announced the postponement of the 76th Annual Grand Rapids Boat Show (originally schedule for February 17-22 at DeVos Place) to February 2022.

“Our primary concern is to provide a quality shopping experience while doing everything we can to protect the health and well-being of the greater community, and to ensure a safe environment for our exhibitors, vendors, patrons, and staff,” says Show Producer and Vice President at ShowSpan Inc., Henri Boucher. “Production of a major consumer show takes a lot of planning and investment that requires lead time. We could not anticipate conditions at the end of February to assure our exhibitors that the show could be opened on schedule.”

“We remain hopeful that things will begin to look markedly different moving into the spring season. As the vaccine administration ramps up and people continue to follow experts’ guidance, we feel we may be able to execute our late-season shows. Combined with the OpenSafely initiative we’ve developed for our shows, and protocols that our venues have in place, I believe we are headed in the right direction.”

OpenSafely is ShowSpan’s comprehensive plan for protecting public health, the guidelines of which are tailored for each individual production. For detailed information, visit ShowSpan.com/opensafely.
