The Muskegon Museum of Art will offer an online art activity, film list, and African American art highlight on its website on Dr. Martin Luther King Day, starting Monday, January 18.
The MMA’s virtual MLK Day celebration will include a family activity to do at home, a film list suited for adults, and a highlight about an African American artist represented with artwork in the MMA’s collection. The materials will be available, starting January 18, with a “Virtual MLK Day Celebration” link at www.muskegonartmuseum.org/education. Special MLK Day posts will also appear on the MMA’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages on January 18.
The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 11 am to 4 pm, and closed on Mondays. Admission is free on Thursdays and on second Saturdays of the month. Social distancing, limited occupancy in public spaces, and enhanced cleaning protocols are in place and visitors and staff are required to wear masks in the museum. Visit www.muskegonartmuseum.org for updates, exhibition, and program information.
Museum program support is provided in part by Art Bridges, the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs with the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Michigan Humanities Council with the National Endowment for the Humanities.
