The Gaylord Area Convention & Tourism Bureau has announced that the Michigan Snowmobile Festival has been postponed until February 2022. This two-day event has been hosted and sponsored by the Tourism Bureau since 2015. Featuring Michigan’s Richest Snowmobile Fun Run, the festival focused on bringing snowmobilers together to ride our trail system and entered them to win $1,000 cash.
“Our committee met in the fall and we were moving forward with the event with several back up plans in place to comply with Covid-19 restrictions,” stated Christy Walcott, Director of Marketing for the Gaylord Area Tourism Bureau. “We waited until it was necessary to start investing in marketing the event before deciding postponing was our best course of action due to the uncertainty as to when restrictions will be lifted.”
Michigan’s Richest Snowmobile Fun Run brings snowmobilers primarily from lower Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana together to experience all northern Michigan trails have to offer. This event was hosted free of charge to all participants and concluded with an afterparty with live music at the Eagles Hall.
“We have plans to make the event bigger and better in 2022,” Walcott commented. “We’re excited to continue offering this event free of charge to all riders to showcase what a spectacular network of trails we have.”
