The Mecosta County Visitors Bureau recently announced the launch of its brand new website.
In the midst of a year filled with unknowns and uncertainties, the Mecosta County Visitors Bureau has been doing its best to stay positive and move forward in support of both their local community and tourism industry.
“As with many local businesses and organizations, several plans and projects for this past year had to be put on hold and/or rescheduled altogether,” said Connie Koepke, executive director for the visitors bureau. “We have been fortunate at the visitors bureau in being able to move forward with some of our larger goals (that we as a board) had set in place for our 2020 fiscal year.”
A brand new website is one of those projects that the visitors bureau has been able to move forward with this year.
“The name will be the same,, but the look and options will be completely updated and very user friendly,” said Koepke. “One of the amazing, new options offered on our updated site is the My Trip feature. As you are exploring the many different offerings within Mecosta County, such as great hotels, outdoor activities and local venues, just click the My Trip Icon (or Heart Icon) and a list of your favorite interests will be compiled in the My Trip tab.”
“You can then reference back to this tab later for a list of all of your favorite saved itinerary items that you selected while exploring the website,” she added. “This is extremely useful when planning that next family vacation or weekend get-a-way.”
The new website also offers a “Packages” feature that will allow guests to book local events and happening along with their guest room reservations. The Mecosta County Community Events Calendar has also been updated, and still offers the ability for events to be added by local community members. Click the “Add an Event” button on the upper right hand corner of the calendar page.
Other resources offered on the Mecosta County Visitors Bureau website include: an online version of the Visitors Guide, interactive map, printable brochures, community resources and more.
Although the new website has officially launched, there are still plenty of additions and updates that can be made moving forward, including a free business and area organizations listings tab in the near future.
Earlier in the year, the Mecosta County Visitors Bureau also rolled out their new logo and Explore the Big Rapids Region branding promotion.
“As we all move forward into 2021, while still adhering to safe practices, getting the word out about our amazing community is more vital than ever,” Koepke said. “The Mecosta County V.B. is strategically working on further concepts and marketing ideas to help promote our area businesses and the tourism industry here in Mecosta County.”
