More Local Attractions with WMTA this November

For those looking to go out and enjoy time with friends and family, more attractions are being made available this November.

Courtney Sheffer, Marketing Director for West Michigan Tourist Association (WMTA), joined Fox 17 live to talk about what’s new in the area.

New GR Restaurant: MDRD

The brand new MDRD (pronounced “Madrid”) restaurant at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel is scheduled for its grand opening next Tuesday, November 17th. They’ve renovated the entire 27th floor of the hotel into this new restaurant, giving every table unobstructed river and city views with a stadium-style seating layout. It’s an all-occasion dining option, with a focus on modern Spanish cuisine and lavish libations, and you can already make your reservations to be one of the first to visit.

Shop Sparta and Holiday Fireworks

Looking ahead to some holiday fun, you can head to downtown Sparta next week on November 20th as they start the Christmas season with shopping specials, a light parade, and a fireworks display. Browse the downtown merchants for local specials earlier in the day, and then catch the Christmas Light Parade and Santa lighting the tree at 6pm, followed by the Christmas “Holiday Sparkle” Fireworks at 7pm.

St. Joseph Luminary Festival

For more holiday cheer, St. Joseph Today invites you to the 26th Annual Luminary Festival, also on Friday, November 20th. Stroll through the beautiful candlelit streets as hundreds of luminaries light your way through downtown St. Joseph. Shops will be open late on Friday and throughout the weekend to provide refreshments, sales, and more. Make a stop at the Purely Michigan store while you’re in St. Joe to find clothing, jewelry, wine, and more Michigan items for everyone on your gift list while enjoying the holiday lights.
