7 Farm-to-Table Foodie Destinations

Farm-to-table supports farmers, butchers, bakers, and small businesses throughout the area, and brings delicious homemade meals and drinks to your table! Enjoy these farm-to-table restaurants, bakeries, breweries, and distilleries from around West Michigan.

1. Kalamazoo

Discover Kalamazoo’s farm food and beverage scene. From fresh vegetables to locally sourced hops, find plates (and pints) to satisfy everyone’s tastes.

2. Fennville

All of Crane’s Pie Pantry, Restaurant, & Winery fruit pies are made with either fruit grown at Crane Orchards or on local West Michigan fruit farms. The same is true for all of their hard apple and pear ciders.

3. Saugatuck

Because of the area’s location within the Fruit Belt of Michigan, a significant number of Saugatuck-Douglas restaurants feature farm-to-table cuisine that spotlights locally-sourced ingredients. Most notable, Salt of the Earth and Root Cafe.

4. Shelbyville

Terrace Grille at Bay Pointe Inn in Shelbyville is a true culinary gem that will delight your senses with a fresh, seasonal menu, extensive wine selection, handcrafted cocktails, and extraordinary service.

5. Ludington

Head to Ludington for homestyle delights using locally sourced meats, homemade sauces, and more delicious treats

6. Traverse City

The Traverse City area has a rich agricultural history. For the farm-to-table diners, there are a number of amazing restaurants, including Iron Fish Distillery in Thompsonville, Michigan’s first working farm solely dedicated to the practice of distilling small-batch craft spirits. Every step of the process – from growing and harvesting non GMO grain to cultivating native yeast, milling, mashing, fermenting, distilling, aging, and bottling – is done by hand at the distillery

Plan your visit to Brys Estate in Traverse City and enjoy a relaxed wine country experience. Your 90-minute reservation will be held at a physically distanced table located in their brick and mahogany tasting room, vaulted barrel room, or Cask Room. All services are tableside and menu items include Tasting Towers (wine flights), glasses of wine, Spiked Hot Apple Cider, and cheese & charcuterie boards.

7. Marquette

While gatherings may look a little different this November, the spirit of coming together can be found at a number of farm-to-table offerings across Marquette. From a locavore eatery that makes all menu items from scratch in support of the slow food movement, to a locally cultivated and internationally inspired neighborhood spot serving up classic German fare – many of Marquette’s eateries work with local farms to create a sustainable dining experience.
