Pumpkin Patches, Corn Mazes, and More Fall Fun

Pick out the perfect pumpkin, take a hayride through an apple orchard, and mark your calendars for these Halloween & Fall Events!

Southwest Michigan

Weekends through the month of October, make your way to Southwest Michigan’s area farms for hayrides to pick apples in the apple orchard and other seasonal fruits and vegetables. Then head to the pumpkin patch to select a pumpkin grown especially for you. Bring the family and your camera to take a picture with a ten foot pumpkin! 

Coldwater

Coldwater Country is a family favorite for fall and the entire Halloween season. Step aboard the Fall Pumpkin Train with the Little River Railroad and enjoy the scenic fall color as you travel from south-central Michigan’s Coldwater to Quincy aboard the historic locomotive. Once in Quincy, take time to choose the perfect pumpkin before enjoying the return train ride to Coldwater. Fall Color Runs take place on Sundays through the end of October. Advance tickets required.

Richland

Gull Meadow Farms in Richland is a great family attraction, with corn mazes, pumpkins, cider, donuts, and kids activities. Find hours, u-pick options, and more by visiting their website

Hastings

Go on a pumpkin hunt at Pierce Cedar Creek Institute in Hastings to find the biggest pumpkin in town with this month’s storywalk featuring We’re Going on a Pumpkin Hunt by Steve Metzger, and along the way learn about the many signs of autumn. 

Hudsonville

If you are looking for a beautiful, old-fashioned, farm setting to celebrate the harvest season, look no further! Post Family Farm in Hudsonville is overflowing with pumpkins, squash, gourds, and more fall farm fun. Visit weekdays through the beginning of November for Fun Farm Days and enjoy hayrides to the U-pick pumpkin patch, pumpkin or pig train ride, friendly farm animals, nature trails, and more. Add even more fun into your visit during Fall Festival Saturdays through October 31st. 

Grand Rapids

Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids is hosting Fall Family Day, Saturday, October 3rd. Visit the Lena Meijer Children’s Garden for an afternoon of fall family fun. Activities include something for all your senses! Listen to fall-inspired tunes and autumn-themed stories, view a fiber arts demonstration, and take a naturalists walk that includes highlights of this amazing season. Fall Family Day activities are included with admission.

Mt. Pleasant

Enjoy family fun in a pumpkin patch in Mt. Pleasant. From walking the patch to enjoying a delicious donut, you will not be disappointed. The pumpkin patch also offers kid-friendly activities such as a petting zoo and different engagement areas around the yard. For more Halloween fun, Mt. Pleasant is also hosting a haunted yard for the community to enjoy. 

New Era

Visit Lewis Adventure Farm & Zoo in New Era for Fall Fun Weekends through November 1st. Pick a pumpkin, get lost in a corn maze, and enjoy the many outdoor, family-friendly activities at Lewis Adventure Farm & Zoo

Ellsworth

Family Fun on the Farm awaits you at Friske’s Farm Market in Ellsworth the first three Saturdays in October. Start the day with a special Fall breakfast in the cafe then head outside for live music (weather permitting). Throughout the day, enjoy wagon rides, giant apple slingshot, pumpkin donuts, fresh pressed cider, a petting zoo, and more. Make sure to enter all your favorite pics of your Friske experience in the 2020 photo contest for a chance to win great prizes!
