Frankfort Fall Festival – Canceled

Fall is an incredible time to visit Benzie County. The already gorgeous scenery is even more magical accented in fall colors and the area is usually busy with fun events and activities. This year’s fall colors will still amaze, but due to the current State Coronavirus Restrictions the Frankfort Elberta Chamber of Commerce is unable to host the Fall Festival in Frankfort this year. The Chamber plans to resume this wonderful event in 2021, with giant pumpkins and loads of fall family fun. So mark your calendar now to be in Frankfort on October 9, 2021 for the Fall Festival! The Chamber regrets having to cancel the Fall Festival but will continue to stay positive for all future activities.

Even though the Fall Festival is taking a break this year, there’s no reason to not get into the FALL SPIRIT in other ways!

Individuals, organizations, and businesses are encouraged to decorate the light poles to enhance the community’s spirit this fall. We will be conducting our decorated light pole contest and awarding prizes for the 3 best decorated poles. There is no cost to participate, just let the Frankfort-Elberta Chamber of Commerce know which pole you would like to decorate. Call 231-352-7251 or email

Along the same lines, everyone is encouraged to decorate your homes, business’s, vehicles, bikes, pets, or yourself! Take a picture of your handiwork and tag the Chamber on Facebook. Prizes will be awarded to the best fall spirit in each of these categories.

Ed Moody will be carving his largest pumpkin at Tap Root Cider House in Traverse City on October 9 & 10. You can also see him at work on his amazing carved pumpkin creations at his home the week of Halloween — October 25, 26. 722 Leelanau Avenue, Frankfort

Enjoy this wonderful time of year in Northern Michigan. If you’re out and about please be safe & smart, and stay healthy!
