Manistee’s First Drive-In Concert

On Saturday, September 19, the Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts will present a drive-in concert to Manistee residents and surrounding communities. This event is made possible through a sponsorship from Filer Township Downtown Development Authority (DDA). Additional sponsors for the event are Century 21 Boardwalk, and Boyer Agency & Auto-Owners.

The event is scheduled from 5pm – 8pm at the old K-Mart lot in Filer Township (1560 US-31, Manistee, MI 49660). It will feature a live concert given by country-singer Sadie Bass. Bandmate Jason Cross will give a show opener. “Sadie has a strong track record as a touring artist. She got into the scene only recently but has already made headlines touring with artists like Brantley Gilbert in 2019,” said Executive Director, Xavier Verna. Tickets are on sale now.

“Manistee has experienced a tidal wave of event cancellations from Forest Festival to the Sleighbell Parade. Many thanks to Filer Township DDA for being a major contributor to help stabilize people’s artistic needs during such a time of need. This will also help support its local businesses,” said Verna. “We’re also grateful to Century 21 Boardwalk for their support to match up to $2,500 in donations in support of the event.”

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Country music singer Sadie Bass grew up in small-town Michigan, hunting, and fishing with her Dad, and those pastimes became the focal point of the first song she wrote called “Son He Never Had.” And yes, Sadie Bass is her given name. Most recently, she was chosen as one of the bands to perform on Brantley Gilbert’s Kick It In The Ship Cruise, selected out of hundreds of entries. Her music and lifestyle could be the poster child for outlaw country music, and she could easily hop the bus on any contemporary country music tour and be welcomed onto any stage today.
