Safe family fun this Fourth can be found at Crystal Mountain

Sun, fun, fresh air and a parade: There’s nothing like Independence Day at Crystal Mountain.

The Fourth of July is Saturday, but Crystal Mountain has a host of activities planned starting Wednesday, all with social distancing and safe family fun in mind.

“We are not able to run a carnival or shoot off fireworks as part of our COVID-19 safety plan, but we have plenty of fun for the family. We’re celebrating like only Crystal Mountain can with lots of outdoors and fresh-air events across our 1,500 acres,” John Melcher, chief operating officer for Crystal Mountain, said.

Something new this year is a family bike parade. This free parade will feature guests pedaling down Crystal Mountain Drive on colorfully decorated bicycles. This event is free. Guests who want to participate should meet at the basketball court by the Mountain Adventure Zone, and staff will lead the way to Kinlochen and back to the Mountain Adventure Zone.

Spectators may line Crystal Mountain Drive to watch, but please be mindful of social distancing.

Crystal Mountain will have bike decorating kits. Stop by the Park at Water’s Edge on Friday while supplies last.

A complete listing of all events can be found at www.crystalmountain.com

Some activities require reservations or a separate fee. Please check website for details.
