Eight restaurants owned by RedWater Restaurant Group are ready to re-open on June 8, 2020 with all safety procedures in place, staff trained on new safety procedures and lots of available indoor and outdoor dining space at their Grand Rapids and Holland restaurants.
RedWater Restaurant Group COO Craig Smith announced today that they have been preparing to re-open to the public since the initial COVID-19 virus closing of restaurants 12 weeks ago. Smith states,“We have been planning for re-opening since the initial stay at home order announcement. As soon as we received Governor Whitmer’s newest announcement that in-person dining at Michigan restaurants would be permitted, starting June 8, we brought back our staff to train them on all the new procedures we have developed in accordance with new state regulations for safe dining and operating within a safe work environment. Masks and gloves will be worn by staff and only items that are needed for dining will be on the table, single-use menus will be used, and additional safety procedures will be in place as well.”
He continued “We are so fortunate that we have a perfect set up at all of our restaurants with lots of indoor space and wonderful outdoor patio space. We will be able to serve our many regular guests again while also providing a safe and enjoyable dining experience. With some of the largest outdoor dining spaces in the area, our restaurants’ patios are ideal environments to enjoy a meal out while comfortably and safely social distancing.
RedWater Restaurant Group owns and operates six restaurants in Grand Rapids and two restaurants in Holland: Cork Wine & Grille, Vintage Prime & Seafood, FireRock Grille, Rush Creek Bistro, Reds at Thousand Oaks and Gravity Taphouse Grille are popular restaurants in Grand Rapids and Boatwerks and RedRock Grille, two of their newest acquisitions, are located in Holland.
Smith explains that when the COVID-19 virus restrictions closed all restaurants in Michigan, it was very difficult for everyone from owners to managers, bartenders to wait staff, and kitchen staff to front of house workers. Smith says, “We were forced to lay off most of our restaurant staff. Even though we had carry-out, it was a very limited business compared to our typical spring and early summer activities. We are happy to bring back many of our staff members to serve the community within these new restaurant procedures.”
Smith concludes, “We cannot wait to start enjoying summer like normal. However, the health and safety of our guests and team members will be of the utmost importance to us at RedWater Restaurant Group as we look forward to re-opening and operating throughout the coming season and beyond.”
