Muskegon Museum of Art Presents Art and Free Spring Event Activities for Families

The Muskegon Museum of Art presents two special exhibitions and six free events loaded with family-friendly art and activities in March and April. The exhibitions highlight children’s book art by 20 top-notch Michigan illustrators and artwork by Muskegon County K-12 students. Free family events include both evening and Saturday programs.

20 for 20: Celebrating Michigan Illustrators presents a curated view of art by children’s illustrators from across the mitten. Work by both nationally recognized household names in children’s literature and emerging illustrators from the state are on display. From paintings, drawings, and collages, to pieces that are entirely digitally rendered, this exhibition celebrates the diversity found amongst illustrators here in Michigan. 20 for 20 runs through April 19, making this a great Spring Break must-see. Underwritten by The Folkert Family Foundation and the DTE Foundation.

Expressions 2020: 38th Annual Muskegon County Student Art Exhibition runs March 25 through April 26. The show is a collaboration between the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District and the MMA that celebrates the artistic talents of Muskegon County’s K-12 students. The exhibition features exceptional artworks in a variety of media, selected by art instructors from each of the public, charter, and private schools in the county. Underwritten by the Muskegon Area ISD and Comerica Bank.
