Berrien County Youth Fair Grandstand Line-up

Youth Fair officials have announced the 2020 lineup of entertainment acts for Berrien County Youth Fair’s 75th anniversary! The BCYF entertainment committee is excited to bring not one, but two concerts on this momentous year. Fair officials announced one concert back in December, the Oak Ridge Boys with “The Voice” season 9 runner-up, special guest Emily Ann Roberts. Tickets are currently on sale for that concert. Fair officials are also excited to bring none other than award winning country artist, Granger Smith on Thursday, August 20.

Demolition fans will be delighted to hear the derby is still on the roster for Friday, August 21. And officials couldn’t forget time honored favorite, the Tractor Pull; it will remain on Monday, August 17. The ever popular Circus Continental will also return on Tuesday, August 18 and Bullmania on August 22 respectively.

Welcomed by 97.5 Y Country, and presented by Honor Credit Union on Thursday, August 20, award winning country artist, Granger Smith will perform;
fans may also catch a glimpse of his alter-ego Earl Dibbles Jr.! Over the course of his groundbreaking career, Granger Smith has amassed a massive and rabid audience now known as “Yee Yee Nation” built through heavy touring and grassroots fan engagements. He now has a social media following of nearly 7 million and over a quarter of a billion online video views. Breaking onto the scene in 2016 with the hit “Backroad Song” of which Smith not only wrote, but also produced, published and performed, he followed it up with the Top 5 hit, “If The Boot Fits.”

Born in central Texas, he taught himself to play guitar as a hobby and eventually starting playing small town gigs in North Texas until college. Smith landed his first song writing deal with EMI Music Publishing in Nashville while he was a freshman at Texas A&M. He made the leap and moved to Tennessee the next year and over the next four years gained experience and produced numerous demos, but ultimately, he wanted to finish his degree and start a band. So he moved back to Texas A&M and started over. His creative juices started flowing again and in 2008 his brother Tyler joined him. Show by show, Granger’s popularity began to grow but it wasn’t until 2011 when the alter-ego Earl Dibbles Jr. was created that Smith’s popularity went viral. With that short and funny video, Smith’s popularity skyrocketed. In 2015, not long after signing a record deal with Broken Bow Music Group, Smith’s debut single “Backroad Song” became a hit on mainstream country radio. He has released numerous other singles including “Happens Like That” and “You’re In It.” Somewhere along the way Granger even wrote his first book If You’re City, If You’re Country which immediately hit No. 1 on Amazon’s best-selling list upon its pre-order announcement. Fair officials can’t wait to see the energy both Granger and Earl Dibbles Jr. bring to the stage on August 20.

Returning on Friday, August 21, welcomed by Rock 107 WIRX, derby promoter TNT Demolition Derby, will bring back the crowd favorite demolition
derby. Fans will see derby classes including big car limited weld, small trucks and SUV’s, Gut n’ Go front wheel drive minivans, Gut n’ Go front wheel drive small cars, big trucks and powerwheels.

Saturday, August 22, welcomed by 97.5 Y-Country and presented by Brookfield Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, the fans will have a chance to be  entertained by the always popular Bullmania which always includes crowd favorite bull riding and kid favorite, mutton busting. This night is always fun for all that attend!

The rest of the BCYF Grandstand lineup includes the favorite weekly opener of the Truck and Tractor Pull. This year’s pull, which will be held on Monday, August 17 at 7 pm will again be an NTPA regional event and will feature Super Farm, 3.0 Diesel Trucks, Mini Rods and Hot Farm pulls. The event is welcomed by both News Talk 94.9 WSJM and WSJM Sports 106.1/AM 1400.

Tuesday, August 18 is the ever-popular Kids Day that will feature three FREE shows by Circus Continental in the grandstand, welcomed by 98.3 The Coast. Circus Continental has been entertaining kids and adults alike for many years at the Berrien County Youth Fair. Don’t miss out on this family and wallet friendly show!

Wednesday, August 19 Fair officials will welcome the legendary country group, The Oak Ridge Boys with special guest, Emily Ann Roberts. That’s right, the whole gang, Duane, Joe, Richard and William Lee, will perform on Wednesday, August 19! Theirs is one of the most distinctive and recognizable sounds in the music industry. The four-part harmonies and upbeat songs of The Oak Ridge Boys have spawned dozens of Country hits and a Number One Pop smash, earned them Grammy, Dove, CMA, and ACM awards and garnered a host of other industry and fan accolades. Every time they step before an audience, the Oaks bring four decades of charted singles, and 50 years of tradition, to a stage show widely acknowledged as among the most exciting anywhere. And each member remains as enthusiastic about the process as they have ever been.

Taking the stage before The Oak Ridge Boys, “The Voice” season 9 runner-up Emily Ann Roberts will entertain fans with her fresh, new organic sound for vintage country music. Emily’s debut album included original songs like “Stuck On Me + You”and “I’ve Got Forever”. Her recent single “Someday Dream” holds the message for her listeners to live out their dreams.
