Traverse City Native Chef and Southern Transplant Returns Home

Executive Chef Christopher Mushall adds his culinary experience to Chateau Chantal’s diverse lineup. Marie-Chantal Dalese, CEO, comments “I’m thrilled with the flair and attention to detail Chef Chris brings to our culinary program at Chateau Chantal – a true master who knows how to elevate a wine pairing experience.  I can’t wait to see what he does with this summer’s local bounty!”

As a graduate of Johnson & Wales University, he brings with him 30 years of culinary experience from South Carolina, Virginia, Arizona, and Europe.  His 30 year career includes working for Orient Express Hotels, Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, Lynchburg University, and the University of Michigan. Studying abroad, Chef Chris gained crucial experience cooking through Europe at a variety of Trattoria’s, Ratskellers and Hotels in Italy, Germany, and Switzerland. Chef Chris also adds opening three unique restaurants in Virginia to his impressive resume.

Passionate about family, food, and wine, he and his son Nicolas moved back to Traverse City where he most recently worked as a Chef for Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools. Chef Chris loves utilizing, whenever possible; local, organic, ethically sourced, sustainable products from a variety of farms and vendors in Michigan.  Experience Chef Chris’s culinary talents during a Chateau Chantal Wine Dinner, hands-on Cooking Class, or during your own private event!
