Whiskey Wishlist Promotes Better Giving

Oddball holiday gifts were the inspiration for, a “spirited” holiday giving gallery launched by Journeyman Distillery last month.

“Whether you’ve been on the receiving end of a well-intentioned gift or spent fruitless hours searching for something the hard-to-shop-for individual on your list will love, is for you,” says Marketing Manager, Sandi Weindling.

The premise is simple. Most of us don’t need more “stuff” and, according to, December is by far the biggest month for alcohol gifting. So, why don’t more people give spirits? “Preferences are very personal,” notes Journeyman founder Bill Welter. “There are a dizzying number of choices out there. A little hint can go a long way.”

That’s where the distillery’s comes in. Fans of craft-made spirits and cocktails will find dozens of holiday giving ideas listed—from award winning spirits, to tours, branded merchandise, and limited edition bottles. A quick couple of clicks will result in a #whiskeywishlist “hint” being dropped on the user’s social media account. If that’s too subtle, the site encourages users to tag friends and family—eliminating any trace of doubt.

For those who are concerned that removing the element of surprise will somehow diminish the experience of giving, Weindling offers the following gentle reminder—”your recipient may be inclined to share.”

Get the gifts you really want this year. Browse the holiday gift gallery at and share your top picks. Add the hashtag #whiskeywishlist for a chance to win a $200 gift certificate. Journeyman Distillery will donate $1 to Meals on Wheels of Southwest Michigan for every qualifying post. Promotion ends December 26th, 2019.
