You’re invited to shop small and celebrate Small Business Saturday in Downtown Holland this Saturday, November 30! Created by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday celebrates the impact small businesses have on communities across the country. This year’s celebration is the 10th annual Small Business Saturday, marking a decade of support from American Express for local business owners. Since it started in 2010, consumers have reported spending an estimated $103 billion across all Small Business Saturdays combined.
In order to drive shoppers to shop small on November 30, Downtown Holland is participating in the American Express Neighborhood Champion Program to spotlight small businesses and the impact they have on communities. Over 30 Downtown Holland businesses will be participating in Small Business Saturday by offering merchandise discounts, promotional savings, fun giveaways, complimentary refreshments and more. A number of participating businesses will also have promotional materials from American Express to hand out, including tote bags, stickers, and pins.
“Small Business Saturday is the perfect day to celebrate all of our independent businesses and the hard work of our small business owners,” said Downtown Holland Marketing Coordinator Kara de Alvare, “At the same time, our merchants want to thank the entire community for their support throughout the year by making Small Business Saturday a fun-filled day to shop and dine in Downtown Holland!”
As another way of thanking the community for their support, Downtown Holland is also giving away $25 gift cards to participating businesses on the “Small Business Saturday in Downtown Holland” Facebook page in the days leading up to Small Business Saturday. Be sure to RSVP on the event page so you don’t miss a single giveaway! For more information from American Express on Small Business Saturday, visit www.shopsmall.com.
