Toys for Tots $10,000 Gift Exchange and $25,000 Challenge Announced at Gun Lake Casino

Gun Lake Casino invites community members and other local businesses to join in on their annual Lakeshore Toys for Tots campaign.

Lakeshore Toys for Tots, sponsored by the Marine Corps Reserve, services a number of local communities including Allegan County, Ottawa County and Van Buren County. Toys for ages 0-16 are collected and given to families in need.

To kick off this holiday initiative, Gun Lake Casino will host a “Gift Exchange” event that will take place on November 25, 2019. The first 1,000 guests to donate a new toy, with a minimal value of $5 accompanied by a receipt, will have the opportunity to participate in the exchange. A total of $10,000 will be given away with ten guests winning $1,000 in cash.  All participating guests will receive a minimum of $10 in free slot play.

The festivities will begin at 11:30 a.m., with the toy collection taking place from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Stage 131. Located at the west entrance of the casino, guests will be welcomed by a Toys for Tots float driven by the Marine Corps Reserve, and a special appearance by Santa Claus to collect the toys.

“Gun Lake Casino has been a proud sponsor of Toys for Tots for many years. In 2018, over $11,000 in new toys were raised for children in Allegan County. Each year we’ve not only achieved our fundraising goals, but continued to increase team member and guest participation,” said Jose Flores, vice president and general manager of Gun Lake Casino. “With the help of the community and our exciting exchange event, I believe we will go above and beyond this year.”

Gun Lake Casino will continue the collection of toys for local children from November 25 to December 15. Following the gift exchange event, guests with new unwrapped gifts, accompanied by a receipt, may receive up to $50 in Free Slot Play for their donation. For more information, please visit the Rewards Center located within the casino.

Flores finished by challenging other local businesses to participate in this goodhearted cause, “Gun Lake Casino is issuing a challenge to all local businesses to participate in this toy collection, and if one business can raise more toys than we do – we will contribute an additional $25,000 to Lakeshore Toys for Tots.”
