What’s Happening in Northern Michigan: Ladies Night Out, Thanksgiving Buffet, Light Parade

With Thanksgiving around the corner, there are plenty of fun activities going on for families to come together and celebrate.

Adrienne Brown-Reasner from the West Michigan Tourist Association tells us What’s Happening in Northern Michigan.

Ladies Night Out

Grab your gal pals and head to Harbor Springs Saturday, November 16, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the Harbor Springs Area Chamber of Commerce Ladies Night Out.

Participating downtown stores will be handing out passports for shoppers to collect signatures as they make their purchases.

Passports can be exchanged for raffle tickets at the New York Restaurant starting at 8:30 p.m., with prize drawings beginning at 9:30.

As part of Ladies Night, the Harbor Springs Area Historical Society will be hosting “Market at the Shay”, starting at 5 p.m. with live music as well as handmade items from local vendors.

Thanksgiving Harvest Buffet

If the thought of preparing an entire Thanksgiving meal for your family and friends has you stressed out, don’t fear! Let Shanty Creek Resort in Bellaire do the cooking and the cleaning up too!

Call today to make reservations for the Thanksgiving Harvest Buffet at the Lakeview Restaurant.

The buffet offers a delicious array of everything a traditional Thanksgiving feast includes and more!

Or take advantage of turkeys-to-go, a complete Thanksgiving meal to take home.

Stay at Shanty Creek for the weekend and enjoy a variety of happenings throughout the resort and downtown Bellaire as they celebrate the unofficial kick-off to the winter season.

Light Parade

Downtown Traverse City begins the 2019 holiday season with the Annual Light Parade Saturday, November 23.

The festivities start at 5:30 p.m. with holiday music, the lighting of the downtown Christmas tree at 6 p.m., followed by the Light Parade along Front Street and the arrival of Santa Claus!

The evening concludes with a Santa visit at Cherry Republic after the parade.
