The woods aren’t the only place you can hunt for a “buck!” The Downtown Merchants Association (DMA) invites you to be their guest in Downtown Gaylord as they celebrate the “Opening Day of Shopping” from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15.
Start your holiday shopping with a bang this season! Don’t forget to grab a few things for yourself all while enjoying discounts, gifts and refreshments throughout participating stores. Shop at your local downtown businesses and save your receipts to hang on the “buck pole,” for your chance at several prizes. You can even combine receipts with friends if you wish.
The Receipt Buck Pole will be at Snowbelt Brewing Company from noon until the prize announcement at 7:00pm. There will be several prizes for buck pole categories (longest receipt, most money spent and most businesses supported) in the form of DMA Bucks that can be spent at any business who is a DMA member.
The pastime of hunting and deer camp is one that pulls together the threads of tradition, camaraderie and a good time. It is Downtown Gaylord’s hope that hunting season will be the start of a similar tradition for those who would rather hunt for bargains over bucks.
The DMA is a group of actively involved business partners who strive to enhance the downtown experience for shoppers, diners, locals and visitors alike. The DMA regularly hosts events in downtown Gaylord, which can be found at www.facebook.com/downtowngaylord.
