Fall is in full swing, and as October rolls along we’ll start to see more Halloween-themed events. Courtney Sheffer from the West Michigan Tourist Association has more on What’s Happening in Northern Michigan.
Head to Frankfort this Saturday for their annual Fall Festival, which kicks off with a pancake breakfast at The Hotel Frankfort. Catch the Fall Festival Parade at 11am, followed by a pie-eating contest, live music from the Scottville Clown Band, giant pumpkins, and even helicopter rides. Make sure you don’t miss the crazy pumpkin drop, taking place near the boat launch at 2:30pm.
Historic White Pine Village in Ludington will be transformed into a Halloween town for Haunted Village Trick or Treat, a family-friendly, trick-or-treat event on October 19th. The cost is just $6 per person, and ages 2 and under are free. Also in Ludington, downtown businesses will open their doors and sidewalks to trick-or-treaters on Saturday, October 26th, for a fun Halloween afternoon.
Get outside for a day full of fall activities during Spooktacular Saturdays at Crystal Mountain in Thompsonville on October 19th and 26th! Go for a wagon ride, visit the petting zoo, carve your own pumpkin, and lots more! When it gets dark, ride the chairlift to the top of the mountain to make your way down the Haunted Trail.
