The Air Zoo is excited to announce a new partnership with Kalamazoo-based microbrewery – One Well Brewing. This exciting collaboration was brought about by an opportunity to celebrate the Air Zoo’s upcoming SR-71 Spy-Posium event (October 4-6, 2019), with a craft brew that is as bold, stealthy, and one-of-a-kind as the spy-plane itself! One Well’s owner, Chris O’Neill, came to the table with the perfect brew in mind, a dry-hopped porter, aptly named, The Blackbird Porter, in honor of the Air Zoo’s SR-71B Blackbird.
“We are truly excited to be a part of such a great event.” O’Neill shares “My grandfather, Tom, worked for Lockheed Martin as an airplane technician and a trainer of the next generation of aviation for years. It seems like a great way to continue to carry the torch for him. We at One Well Brewing feel proud to be invited to be a part of such a monumental step in the history of this aircraft.”
“We could not be more excited to be working with the folks at One Well Brewing. These local partnerships support the continued growth of this innovative community. The historic event itself is bound to be a one-of-a-kind, throw in a One Well porter for special release and you have yourself a truly exciting, and delicious, partnership!” states Air Zoo President and CEO, Troy Thrash. “We hope this is just the beginning of future collaborations with One Well.”
The brewery plans to add the new porter to their draft list this week. Special, limited edition 4-packs will be available for purchase at both One Well Brewing and the Air Zoo’s Fly Buy Store, located in the Flight Innovation Center. These will be available the weekend of the event, along with commemorative pint glasses and other Air Zoo SR-71 Spy-Posium related merchandise.
