WING WEST AND THE SHOW TOURNAMENT SERIES HOST MY TURN CHARITY HOCKEY TOURNAMENT BENEFITING ALS FOUNDATION

Wings West and The Show Tournament Series are slated to host a charity hockey tournament September 20th – 22nd, located at Wings West facility. Proceeds and donations from the tournament will be directed to the My Turn Project Fund through the Susan Mast ALS Foundation.

The USA sanctioned charity tournament kicking off Friday, September 20th at 5076 Sports Dr, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 will showcase a variety of skill levels from beginner to advanced. Each team will play a minimum of three games, maximum of four. Registration is now open for interested participants. To register, visit https://eliteamsports.com/myturn/.

The MyTurn Project Fund was created through the partnership of Scott Matzka, a NCAA national hockey champion and professional hockey player who settled in Kalamazoo following his hockey career, and the Susan Mast ALS Foundation. Scott was diagnosed with ALS in September of 2015 and passed away in December of 2018, never letting ALS dictate how he would skate his final shift.  The goal of the MyTurn Project Fund is to help others within the community who live with ALS.

ALS, or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. ALS usually strikes people between the ages of 40 and 70, and it is estimated there are at least 16,000 Americans who have the disease at any given time.

Interested participants are encouraged to register early in an effort to make this event as successful as possible. Everyone is invited to attend the charity tournament to help raise money for the My Turn Project Fund through the Susan Mast ALS Foundation.
