Don your dirndls and lederhosen for Gaylord’s 3rd Annual Blocktoberfest! Hosted by the Downtown Merchants’ Association and sponsored by local businesses, the festivities kick off on Saturday, September 21st from 1:00 – 10:00 pm.
Bring the whole family downtown under the Pavilion on Court for a fun day of music, dancing, games, great food and world class beer! Activities on tap include corn hole, games for kids and adults, face painting and more! Check out live music with Virgil Baker and the Just for Fun Band from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. and the Kari Lynch Band from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded for the beard and mustache contests, along with the ever-popular beer stein holding contest. Food will be for sale through the Otsego County Hockey Association and this year’s beer garden will serve craft beers and wine from northern Michigan breweries including Snowbelt Brewing Co., Big Buck Brewery, Rolling Oak and Cheboygan Brewing Co.
Admission to the event is free, however, if you would like to purchase alcoholic beverages a souvenir Blocktoberfest mug is required. Mugs will be available for $5 or $10, depending on the size. More information on mug sales will be available soon.
