It’s hard to believe that summer is winding down and that the Kids Activities at the Holland Farmers Market will conclude for the 2019 season this Wednesday, August 21. The Activities will begin at 9:30 am with Market Story Time hosted by the Herrick District Library, followed by an activity lead by the staff at the Holland Area Arts Council from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. as part of the Arts Council activity, children will have the opportunity to craft their own “Mr. Potato Heads” to take home using potatoes from the Holland Farmers Market, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, fabric scraps and more! The Kids Activities are proudly sponsored by Higher Health Chiropractic.
The mission of the Holland Area Arts Council is to educate, engage and challenge the community through the arts. The Arts Council is a building where kids, grownups, families and artists of all ages come to experience art. It’s also a group of people who are constantly working to spark imagination in the community through always-changing exhibitions, a variety of classes, camps and workshops for all ages, arts and music events, public art projects and arts resources.
The Kids Activities at the Holland Farmers Market are held every Wednesday morning through August 21. The Activities begin at 9:30 am with Market Story Time hosted by the Herrick District Library, followed by a free, educational and hands-on activity hosted by a local non-profit organization or business. In addition to the organized activity, bubbles, hula hoops and coloring pages are also available each week. The Activities are free to attend though a parent/guardian must remain present at all times.
