Join the Harbor Springs Area Historical Society as they welcome Bob Tagatz, official historian at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, for the next installment of their Harbor History Talk series on Thursday, August 15. Tagatz has over 30 years of experience in historical preservation in Michigan, Florida and Georgia. More than two decades ago, Tagatz came to Mackinac Island because of his interest in the Grand Hotel and the study of turn-of-the century wood frame hotels (the Grand Hotel being one of only eleven still standing today). He assembled the Grand Hotel’s first archives and is well known for his dynamic presentations on the hotel’s history.
Tagatz’s talk will begin at 5:30 pm at the Harbor Springs High School Performing Arts Center, 500 N Spring St, Harbor Springs. Admission is $5 for Historical Society members and $10 for non-members. Refreshments will be provided. To inquire about membership or make reservations, please call (231)526-9771 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
