Serita’s Black Rose to Bring the Sounds of Soul to Downtown Holland
With powerhouse vocals and skilled musicianship, Serita’s Black Rose is making a name for themselves in the Grand Rapids music scene. The acoustic duo, made up of Serita Crowley and Jon Hayes at Downtown Holland’s Concerts In The Park, tomorrow, Wednesday, July 31 beginning at noon. Concerts In The Park is a lunchtime concert series event hosted by Downtown Holland every Wednesday through August 28 from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm in GDK Park
on 8th Street between Central and River Avenues. Concerts In The Park is free to attend and is proudly sponsored by Haworth.
A self-professed “Funkateer”, Serita Crowley of Serita’s Black Rose brings a raucous mix of funk, rock, blues, neo-soul and American wherever she performs. Serita, along with her partner Jon Hayes are at the band’s core, performing together for nearly two decades. As an acoustic duo, they play much of the timeless “feel good music” from the 60’s and 70’s that everyone can enjoy. Her fiery, blues- and soul-infused vocals will shake the ground beneath your feet.
Each week during Concerts In The Park, the entire community is invited to celebrate the many sounds of Holland with a free, family-friendly concert featuring a diverse line-up of musical performers. Bring a blanket, pack a lunch (or grab one “to go” from a Downtown Holland restaurant), sit back and relax as the sounds of jazz, folk, blues, Tejano music and more fill 8th Street!
