Over 150 Years of Farming & Family Traditions at Overhiser Orchards

Farm-fresh produce is delicious, nutritious, and more economical. Whether you prefer picked produce or enjoy picking your own, you will find fresh fruits and vegetables in season just waiting for you, along with a few new barnyard friends, at Overhiser Orchards.

Overhiser Orchards has been fruit farming in South Haven since 1863 and operated by the same family for over 150 years. Now run by the fifth generation on the 150 year old farm, the Overhisers are continuing to grow fruits and vegetables throughout the summer growing season into the fall.

A visit to the Overhiser Orchard offers U-pick sweet or tart cherries, peaches, apricots, pears, blueberries, and plums. They also pick and mix a blend of apples which are locally pressed to their own special cider.

In addition to the fun of picking fruit fresh off the tree, you can also take a tour of the barn and learn about the care of the farm animals, including goats, chickens, alpacas, and more. Much of the farm tour can be self-guided by instructional signage on the property.

Other farm-fun activities include wagon rides, tours, and special events such as the “In Search of the Great Pumpkin” event held the 3rd Saturday in October. Pumpkin and apple picking and farm fresh cider and donuts is everyone’s favorite time on the farm in the fall! New this year to fun on the farm is a food trailer making fresh fruit smoothies and fresh squeezed lemonade and lunch favorites along with mini donuts on the weekends.  In addition, you can enjoy a corn and a sunflower maze and picking experience. Visit the Overhiser Orchard website for schedule and more information.

The Overhiser Orchard family looks forward to sharing their fruit knowledge and experience with you!
