Grand Rapids Downtown Market Hosting First-Ever Fruit Fest on June 26

The Grand Rapids Downtown Market is adding a new event this June to celebrate all things related to FRUIT! Fruit Fest takes place at the Downtown Market on June 26 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Fruit Fest will feature a special appearance from the world-famous Big Banana Car, a great photo opp with the world’s “only motorized banana.” Kids will also enjoy face painting and other kids activities focused around fresh fruit

Underneath the outdoor Market Shed, local producers will have fruity products for sale, such as locally-made jams, pastries and local fruit, and the Market Bar will feature fruity beverages for adults, and special strawberry beverages for kids!

Market Hall merchants and restaurants inside the Market Hall will also feature fruit-inspired special menu items.

“Summer time in West Michigan is the best time for local fruit, and we all know local produce is the most delicious,” said Amanda Gielczyk, Downtown Market VP of marketing and operations. “Fruit Fest is a fun way to kick off that local fruit harvest season with a fun new twist.”
