Box Factory for the Arts announces 2019 MAAC Exhibition Winners

The 17th Michiana Annual Art Competition (MAAC) Exhibition opened last Friday, June 7 at the Box Factory for the Arts to a packed house of artists and community supporters. The exhibition runs now through July 13, featuring 79 artists and over 130 pieces.

We are proud to announce the 2019 Award Winners:

Best of Show and Best in Category winners were selected by jurors Jessica Lentych Loyd and William Tourtillotte.

Best of Show – $1,000:

Greg Constantine for “Cody (Orange)”

Best in Category Winners – $250 each:

Photography – Vasilisa Kiselevich for “Abandoned”

Digital Media – Leslie Victor for “Telegraph Road”

Mixed Media – Kaylee Dalton for “Silt”

Painting – Diana Seely for “Girl with flower earring”

Drawing – Kimberly Wood for “Cupidity”

Glass – Judy Hallisy for “Lapis Sunset”

Sculpture – Rebecca Hungerford for “The Last Glacier”

Ceramic – Thomas Rice for “Balance”

Four Sponsor Awards were presented:

Twin City Camera Club- $250 to Joel Brussell for “Milkweed Universe”

Susan Craw- $250 to William Andert for “Foliage and Fruit Drop”

Krasl Art Center – $300 to Rebecca Hungerford for “Snow Drift”

Box Factory for the Arts Emerging Artist Award – $250 to Biff Vigil for “where in your body do you feel it that you ‘don’t want to live on Mars’?”
