The weather’s warming up! We’re seeing more of the sun, and spring is in full swing. Courtney Sheffer with the West Michigan Tourist Association shares some fun ways to enjoy all Northern Michigan has to offer this season in this week’s What’s Happening in Northern Michigan.
Get ready for Traverse City Baseball’s opening day with the newly renamed Traverse City Pit Spitters on May 28. The new name was selected from the thousands of entries fans submitted last fall. There will be several activities for fans at the opening day game, including pre-game catch on the field, face painters and balloon artists. And the first fireworks show of the year will follow the game. The first 500 fans through the gates will receive a special inaugural season Pit Spitters t-shirt.
Every year, Family Nature Summits brings together families and friends from across the country to discover more of America’s wild places. This year’s Great Lakes Summit will take place July 20-26 at Shanty Creek Resort.
