What’s New for 2019

Partnership with Habitat for Humanity-Grand Traverse Region

For the third consecutive year, the Resort is pleased to partner with Habitat for Humanity-Grand Traverse Region (HGH-GTR) for the race, and funds raised will go toward building homes for local veterans.

“We are thrilled to be partnering again with Grand Traverse Resort and Spa through this event to highlight our Veterans Initiative,” says Executive Director Wendy Irvin. “We’re currently serving a US Navy veteran and his family through an affordable home purchase in Maple City, and we also recently served a US Army veteran with a new roof through our Home Repair Program.”

Between 2018 and 2019, HGH-GTR will serve two local veteran families, as well as log over 16,000 volunteer hours completing five home builds and one home repair. Irvin adds, “We’re always looking for more veterans to serve, and we encourage anyone in need of safe, affordable housing to contact us.”

Race participants will have the opportunity to make donations to help support HFH-GTR efforts before and during the race. Read more about Habitat for Humanity-Grand Traverse Region and their initiatives at
