Root Café in downtown Fennville is celebrating the start of its 5th year over Mother’s Day Weekend,
while their connecting fine art and craft gallery, Fernwood 1891 is going into its 6th year. Root’s menu features many ingredients that owner Dawn Soltysiak and her husband Rob grow on their farm, or sourced from other local farms. The art gallery features artwork by over 50 local artists and makers.
Dawn is passionate about locally sourced and handmade, and says she has been slowly expanding the business to fit her vision of a comfortable, casual space where you can enjoy handcrafted food and beverage, surrounded by quality local art.
To celebrate this milestone year, Root is hosting two events on May 10th and 11th.
In collaboration with Grand Traverse Distillery, Root will be hosting an Elixir Fixer Mixology Class and Food Pairing Event on Friday May 10th at 7pm. Tickets $40 and available at www.facebook.com/
On May 11th, in collaboration with Collywobbles Theatre Company, enjoy a dinner theatre performance of Star Spangled Girl by Neil Simon at 6:30pm. Tickets $30, $15 of which goes toward food and drink that evening. www.facebook.com/
Over that same weekend, Root will debut new summer menu specials, samples and door prizes.
