Holland Area Arts Council Announces Bizarre Biology Body Spring Break Camp

Art meets science in the Holland Area Arts Council‘s new Bizarre Biology Body Spring Break Camp! Using the STEAM education principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math, instructor Jessica Lilly helps kids learn about the human body.

With an emphasis on art, kids will sculpt anatomically correct models of internal organs out of paper mache, wires and tubes complete with a sewn body bag to store them in. Kids will cook up jello brains in the kitchen and also cookies made to look like poop (because everyone does). Finally, we make large paintings from images of of blood cells that look like abstract masterpieces!

Further cultivating an interest in science, Bizarre Biology Body Camp includes a field trip to Hope College to view slides of human body tissues and organs up close under a high-powered microscope.

This camp is open to ages 8 to 12 and runs four afternoons from Tuesday, April 2nd through Friday, April 5th from 1-4 pm. Sibling discounts are available!

Students will meet at the Holland Area Arts Council each day at 150 East 8th Street in Downtown Holland. Call 616-396-3278 or go online to for more information and to register. Register early! Our camps fill up fast!
