Gaylord Area Junior Golf Season Starts Soon

The Gaylord Area Junior Golf Association (GAJUGA) encourages area children interested in learning more about golf to enroll in their 2019 program, which kicks off with registration at the Michaywe Pines Pro Shop on Wednesday, May 1st from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.

Open to youth age 7 to 17, GAJUGA provides junior golfers in Gaylord and the surrounding areas a solid foundation in the game of golf, including the swing, rules, professional instruction and etiquette.  The program includes nine lessons provided by the First Tee of Northern Michigan staff, five “on course” golf events, a Family Fun Night, tee gift and Youth on Course Membership.

Youth On Course annual membership (included for all GAJUGA members) provides junior golfers access to participating area courses for only $5. For YOC information, a list of participating courses and restrictions visit www.youthoncourse.org.  The YOC Foundation is supported and funded through our Golf Association of Michigan.

GAJUGA membership is just $50 per person and registration forms and event calendars are available online at www.gaylordjuniorgolf.com.  They can also be picked up at the Michaywe Pines Pro Shop at 1535 Opal Lake Road or the Gaylord Area Tourism Bureau at 319 West Main Street.
