The Gaylord Area Convention and Tourism Bureau is gearing up for the Michigan Snowmobile Festival, scheduled for Saturday, February 23rd. It’s “all outdoors” and it’s everything snowmobile. “Gaylord is one of the best snowmobile destinations in Michigan and we want to celebrate that,” commented Paul Beachnau, Executive Director of the Gaylord Area Convention and Tourism Bureau.
This year’s festival has been revamped to a one-day event where snowmobilers can look forward to doing what they love most – riding our outstanding trail system! Dubbed “Michigan’s Richest Snowmobile Fun Run,” participants will stop by the Tourism Bureau office located at 319 West Main Street to register and pick up their packets from 8:00 – 11:00 a.m., ride to five excellent Gaylord area locations, drop their registration slips at each stop, then return to the Eagles Hall at 515 South Wisconsin Ave. for prizes and more!
The snowmobile fun run is a FREE event! There is no cost to register and the first 100 people will receive a free festival t-shirt, courtesy of the Sled Shed. Coffee and snacks at registration will be provided by Meijer of Gaylord. While riders do not have to follow a certain route or stop at all locations, a guided ride will start at 10:30 a.m. from the Tourism Bureau. Stops include the Keg Bar, Porter Haus, Beaver Creek Resort, Treetops Resort, and Paul’s Pub.
Beginning at 4:00 p.m., everyone is welcome to meet at the Eagles Hall for food, beverages and live music. Enjoy the musical talents of the Sleeping Gypsies from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m.
Gift certificates from each stop will be drawn starting at 6:00 p.m. The grand prize of $1,000 CASH will be drawn at 8:00 p.m. You must be present and at least 18 years old to win all prizes!
