It’s that time of the year when kids (and adults) around the world are creating their lists, while Santa is checking his. Santa wants to make sure he has it all straightened out: who’s naughty, and who’s nice? Everybody else, on the other hand, is jotting down what they hope to find under the tree come December 25th. All over West Michigan, Santa is stopping by and lending his ear to listen to what everyone wants for Christmas this year.
Santa Sightings in Southern West Michigan
Santa is joined by Mrs. Claus and the Grinch at Saugatuck’s Annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 1st. The parade will begin lineup at noon at the corner of Mason and Griffith streets in downtown Saugatuck.
Santa will be making several appearances in downtown Hastings during the holiday season. One of these appearances will be at the Hasting Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 1st, with more throughout the month.
Santa will be spending a lot of time in Coldwater this Christmas. Head to downtown Coldwater on Saturday, December 1st for the annual Christmas Parade and Santaland. The big man will return to the area to hang out at the Quincy Fire Station on Friday, December 7th for the Quincy Lights & Holiday Market.
Santa is stopping by Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek for dinner on December 1st, 8th, and 15th. Enjoy a traditional family-style meal with the jolly old man himself!
The holidays aren’t complete in the South Haven area without the annual Santa Run in nearby Paw Paw on Saturday, December 8th. The event is fun for participants and spectators alike. You’ll be filling the town with Christmas cheer as one of the hundreds of Santa’s running through downtown Paw Paw!
Picture-perfect holiday fun is available weekends in December in downtown St. Joseph. Santa’s house will be located on the corner of State and Pleasant Streets, with the big man himself arriving in downtown St. Joseph at the end of the Reindog Holiday Parade on December 8th!
The Pictures with Santa event at 12 Corners Vineyard is Saturday, December 15th in Benton Harbor. Santa will have his sleigh parked in the tasting room, ready to read lists, answer questions, and take photos!
Santa is stopping by the Inn at Harbor Shores in St. Joseph for brunch on Sunday, December 16th. Even the reindeer will be joining the festivities! Reservations are recommended.
Live reindeer return to the Silver Beach Carousel in St. Joseph on Thursday, December 20th. Santa will arrive at the Carousel House and will stay to listen to children’s Christmas wishes. This is one of the carousel’s most popular Family Fun Night events, so arrive early to avoid waiting in long lines.
Santa Sightings in Central West Michigan
Santa and his reindeer will be at Robinette’s Apple Haus & Winery in Grand Rapids for photos and wish lists on Saturday, December 1st.
Find Santa in Muskegon throughout the month of December. He’ll be making the parade circuit with the 66th Annual White Lake Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 1st and the Circle of Trees & Dog Parade on Sunday, December 2nd. The Holiday Brunch with Santa at SE4SONS is Sunday, December 16th with great food, holiday cookie decorating, and an appearance by the big man himself!
The 75th Annual Santa Parade through downtown Rockford is Saturday, December 1st. After the parade concludes, Santa visits and carriage rides will be available at the Rotary Pavilion. Santa will return to the pavilion on December 5th and 12th to hear wish lists from all the good boys and girls.
Santa is spending time at the Downtown Market in Grand Rapids this holiday season with events galore! The Winter Wonderland is Wednesday, December 5th with Santa waiting to hear from all the kiddos in the greenhouse. Enjoy a snack with Santa on Tuesday, December 11th or simply swing by to meet with him on December 14th through 16th. Information on these events and more is on Downtown Market’s website.
Hipster Santa will be stopping by the Grand Rapids Public Museum for photo opportunities! Hipster Santa will be set up in the Museum’s Streets of Old Grand Rapids’ Barrel Factory on Saturday, December 8th. All ages are welcome to purchase picture packages to be printed on site during their visit to the museum.
The Historic White Pine Village in Ludington will be decorated with lights and old-fashioned decor for Santa and Mrs. Claus’ arrival on Saturday, December 15th. Cookies and warm beverages will be sold in the Town Hall and ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas will be read in the Farmhouse.
Find Santa in Newaygo County this holiday season. He’ll be in both White Cloud and Newaygo on Saturday, December 15th. This is the perfect opportunity for the kids to talk to Mr. and Mrs. Claus and get a photo!

Santa’s House in downtown Holland is open through Christmas Eve. There is no charge to sit on Santa’s lap, but be sure to bring your own camera for photos!
Santa Sightings in Northern West Michigan
Stop by Castle Farms in Charlevoix to see if you can find Santa! Their Story Time with Santa event is December 1st, 2nd, 8th, and 9th. Groups of kids spend an hour with Santa while he reads them a story. They also make a craft, receive a gift, snack on cocoa and cookies, and get a professional portrait with Santa.
Oliver Art Center in Frankfort will be hosting Santa and Mrs. Claus on Sunday, December 9th during a free, family event. In addition, there will be a holiday story time, holiday arts and crafts, a hot chocolate bar, and kids activities.
Santa Claus is coming to breakfast! Visit the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa in Williamsburg on Saturday, December 15th for Breakfast with Santa in Governors’ Hall. This one-of-a-kind event also includes face painting, balloon artists, DJ music, a caricaturist, a Christmas cookie design station, and more Christmas magic than you can shake a candy cane at.
Get into the holiday spirit and bring the family to Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay for a special brunch with Santa on Sunday, December 16th!
