GR8LKS Promotes Environmental Responsibility with Eye-Catching Clothing

GR8LKS provides durable, eye-catching clothing in a sustainable and socially responsible manner that not only brings awareness to the increasing issue of marine debris but positively impacts the Great Lakes eco-system through their $1 = 1-minute promise.

“We believe that it is our responsibility to do something about the growing problem of marine debris,” said Pete Gawkowski, Co-Founder. “With the help of our customers,  we believe we can make a difference, one minute at a time.”

Michigan natives Pete Gawkowski and Andrew Mann are passionate about the Great Lakes. Both grew up along the shores of Lake Michigan and have been friends for seventeen years. Pete and Andrew developed a concept to sell high-quality, comfortable apparel using certified organic cotton and recycled materials while making a direct impact on the epidemic of marine debris in the Great Lakes. They knew they could leverage better-made apparel while keeping trash out of the landfills; out of the rivers; out of the great lakes. Apparel that people could wear with the knowledge that they were helping restore balance to the great lakes region. More conversations developed into a concept and eventually the pair decided to start GR8LKS.

“As consumers, we have become increasingly conscious about our purchases, channeling the power of our vocalized objections to make a positive difference for the people and environment directly impacted by the making of our clothes and goods,” said Andrew Mann, Co-Founder. “We have made it a part of our centralized mission to approach apparel in an ethical and transparent way that considers both the people and the environment of the great lakes region.”

GR8LKS is a Limited Liability Company that is on a mission to create an apparel movement that actively removes trash from the great lakes and coastlines while inspiring others to work together for cleaner great lakes, one minute at a time. Our Promise to our customers is that every dollar spent equals one minute of trash removal from the great lakes and coastlines within 12 months from the time of purchase.
